Missoula housing trends: Home prices are soaring, but affordability is declining
Submitted by Anonymous on Wed, 10/31/2007 - 20:07.The Missoula Organization of Realtors released their report on Thursday, revealing the median home price in Missoula has reached $206,850 last year - a whopping $20,000 increase over the year before.
This price increase has put buying a home out of reach for the median income family, a condition largely caused by a lack of land to build on.

Montana housing market show signs of slowing
Submitted by Anonymous on Thu, 05/31/2007 - 05:00.The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight reported the housing market slowdown is showing up in Montana. "We have definitely seen a deceleration in Montana's house price growth," said Paul Polzin, a University of Montana economist.
Overall, housing prices increased 2.5 percent in Montana during the first quarter of 2007, which ended March 31. That's down from 3.6 percent increase during the same quarter a year ago.

Missoula Montana continues housing boom
Submitted by Anonymous on Sun, 04/29/2007 - 05:00.The total number of home sales in Missoula has been on the upswing since 2002, according to the Missoula Organization of Realtors. Last year alone, nearly 1,500 homes were sold, a 3.6 percent increase over the previous year.
“We are, as the statistics are showing, still part of the 31 percent of the national market that is increasing rather than decreasing,” said Mary Marry, the organization's board president.
